Omid Namazi to be named assistant coach?
January 15, 2008

Omid Namazi is set to be named RBNY's lone assistant coach, reports SoccerByIves. Namazi, who had a 12-minute stint with the Metros as a player in 1996, is currently coaching the New Jersey Ironmen in the MISL. He's had a long indoor career playing and coaching, leading the Philadelphia KiXX to the league title in 2002. His outdoor coaching experience seems to be limited to the San Diego Sprit of the WUSA.

According to the same source, current Metro assistant coach Richie Williams will remain with the team, in a yet-to-be-known capacity. Longtime goalkeeping coach Des McAleenan will remain in his current job, marking his seventh year with the club.
